Manchester City are planning to splash the cash on Florian Wirtz as a future replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been link with a move away since the summer but the Germany international has decide to remain at Bayer Leverkusen this season.

However, with his excellent performance, the media continues to keep a close eye on Wirtz’s situation, with Goal England recently revealing that the Citizens have placed the 21-year-old midfielder as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

KDB’s contract with Man City is set to expire at the end of this season, and it has been unclear whether the Belgian will remain a City player.

As a result, Manchester City see Wirtz as the ideal long-term replacement, with competition from a number of top European clubs who are keeping tabs on the Germany international.

However, Real Madrid are now believe to be the only major rivals for Man City, with representatives from Leverkusen confirming they have no intention of selling Wirtz to Bayern Munich. 

For Wirtz, his contract with Leverkusen runs until mid-2027, and ยูฟ่าเบท there has been talk of extending the contract between both parties recently.

City’s concern stems from De Bruyne’s injuries, which have sidelined him for much of last season. At his age, long-term doubts about his fitness make Wirtz’s acquisition even more urgent. “At 33 years old, questions are being raise about De Bruyne’s long-term fitness,” writes Ufabet.com, citing his struggles with injuries.
