Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has admitted Joelinton is unlikely to return before the end of the season.

“It’s a difficult possibility but with Joe you can’t rule him out. He’s motivated to try and come back. ” His knee wasn’t good last week, before the game, so he went to a specialist for advice. ” The advice was nothing serious but he needs a rest.
“Nothing serious but he needed a period of rest. He’s now in Brazil. We’ll see if we can get him back by the end of the season, but probably not. I wouldn’t say it’s a new injury, but it’s a related injury and it just need a bit of rest.”
Sven Botman, however, came through his return from his own injury last weekend unscathed and is set to feature during the run as third-placed Newcastle look to secure Champions League qualification.
” He’s in Brazil now. We’ll see if he can be back before the end of the season, but it’s not a possibility. ” It’s not a new injury, it’s related to the knee injury he’s had recently. It’s not 100 per cent yet.
